Human being are one kind, which goes through the different view points according to their age, that's called maturity. The more we advance in age our thought process changes and adapts to the new ways of life. It even adopts some from others, although it might not suit that person. We are animals of change, and as change is constant, we follow the trend. The chance not only does happen externally but it also takes place internally.
The total thought process of the being changes, his or her characteristics changes, even to the extent of his or her personality changes. So now, it can be safely said that, change is a accepted norm of our life. What happens to those who can not change, or those who change not according to the usual parameters accepted by society? This is, where I think we all go wrong, or we all assume the parameters set, by who so ever, is correct and irrevocable. When nothing is constant, how can few guidelines be constant, how could a rule set in some ancient time still be correct today? I think that would be a bit out dated for us to keep using the old parameters in life today. Yes, I agree some of them are still usable, and they do apply to today's life, but most are not. So why not change them also. We do change them, but many a times such changes bring upheaval from the folks who still use it.
Every individual is made different so whys should there be a set rule for each and every individuals? That is hypocrisy, as people have different circumstances to deal with when they are performing their transformations. Lets be kind to our species and look this in a more broader spectrum. One person may be able to perform his adequate amount of thinking at one time, where as an other of the same age group may be lagging behind. It is absolutely alright, so why do people give names to such person. They are tagged and labeled and pointed out at every single opportunity the other people gets. What kind of maturity is that? What kind of human trait is that? I think, we should have a hard look at ourselves first and then decide on the short coming of others. Most human being think they are demi-gods, they think they have the birth right to judge others. Who gives them this right? Being judgmental is the sign of a person with an ability to cover his own faults in others misgivings, a very weak sign of humanity.
Again there are those who science made different, they are wired differently. What about them? Society gets into the fast track to give a name for such people..."special needs". I have heard this phrase been so over used and miss used that it makes me sick to my stomach. Hey people think what you are saying, every person has a need of some kind or the other, some less and some more. So why all this halabaloo, yes, those who need a bit of extra help, give it to them. Don't make a scene out of it. A good deed does not need such advertisements, just do it and be happy with it.
In every step of society there is a so called group of people who act as if they are doing all these for the best interest of this "special needs group", but in fact they are exploiting their inabilities for their own name and fame. I have to admit, there are many many individuals and associations which do perform their best for all kind of people with a little less speed, but their numbers are very less. I appreciate and salute their selfless endeavor. The schooling does provide a good scope for kids who need a bit different way of education, calling it a IEP(Individual Education Plan). There are educationists who really work with their heart in their hands. They not only strive for the child to do his or her best but also make sure he or she has got the best tools to succeed. Even with all these great things going on, schools do use these groups for their benefit. Money is a huge thing, that is to say grants are sanctioned for these kind of situations. So I have heard of many institutions misusing this privilege.
Life is not a easy path for most or even all individuals, but the people who progress at a little different pace, have to swim against the current. Lets not make it harder for them, and lets not judge them. Love and acceptance can make us all feel the same and promote us to the goal we set up for ourselves. If we are all the product of the same spices, homo sapiens, then why all this labeling. Let us accept changes and make ourselves matured in our way of thinking. No one is the same, and it should not be also. Life and the world would be a boring place to live in then, color is a vital part of our daily life. The different kind of people and their different rate of maturity makes us so unique and so brilliant. A collage of different gem stones, which are at different stages of polishing. A very spectacular picture just like a kaleidoscope, exploding into different colors and shapes every time the world spins around.
Uneven Thoughts

This is one of the most naked revelations of truth with the current educational system and human behavior towards his fellow human beings. I completely agree with you on this and definitely we are not demigods. Every word is well chosen to deliver the message, I'm sure so many souls around the planet suffer this kind in or other way. Impressive but so much heart touching.
ReplyDeleteI'll pray and wish that Almighty take care and bless to all those suffering souls who are struggling in this world!
Peace,
Vasu
Anumita you have played with a string in my heart. I will have to sit and discuss this at lenghth on this thread. This is not a topic I want to start my reply over dinner. Need sometime to send it in.
ReplyDeleteIn this world humans have this audacity to always think they are the best somehow. More fit, more brainy, more apt to survive, more more and more....In this context every individual human takes it upon himself to prove the point once more thinking he is best in this that and that....In this rat race of being that showff peacock we think its ok to judge others and their way of thinking. We want all to think a certain way and any other way the brain thinks is labelled 'different'!!
ReplyDeleteThats where the problem lies. Just the way our ten fingers are different, similarly our brains are wired differently. Just because I think differently from you does not make me any different from you. So stop and think again before we call anyone a certain name. Before you think someone is different or call him /her a name keep your fingers crossed for one day you might be told that your child or your grandchild is different...think again. This topic could then become very close to your heart too.
So much to learn from your writing. Your heart speaks in your words. You Really jotted with heartfelt emotions. And so true.... Who are we to judge ? If we are perfect then God has to loose his job !! My admiration for you is immense. I learn from you everyday. Keep writing and enlightening the world.
